If a client account contains an unallocated receipt this money could be used to pay or to part-pay an invoice, in which case the transaction is highlighted in yellow on the credit control report (also called the uninvoiced report).
Unallocated receipts are cash receipts held on a client account that are not yet allocated to invoices.
This means that some or all of your clients invoices could be showing as outstanding when in fact they are not.
To avoid sending unnecessary and incorrect reminders to your clients, make sure that all money has been allocated to invoices before sending your reminders.
See Why Unallocated Receipts Occur to learn more about them.
